2009年10月17日-18日に、南魚沼市栃窪地区で地元のベテランに教わりながらイネの刈り取りと天日乾燥の作業を体験しました。
休日農業講座「田んぼのイロハ」の第5回講座が、10月17日-18日に開かれました。
参加したのは首都圏の学生や社会人、親子連れなど29人。約半数が学生でした。
1日目は、地元の人を講師に座学を受けた他、生態系調査「栃窪いきものプロジェクト」にも参加しました。2日目は、青空の下で地元の人に教わりながらイネを刈り取り、束ねて「はざ」にかけました。

29 participants enjoyed harvesting and drying rice under the sun in Tochikubo, Minamiuonuma on October 17th 18th,
The 5th class of ABC in a Rice Paddy in this year was held on October 17th 18th with 29 people, including students, business persons and families from metropolitan area. This time, university students occupied a half of the group.
On the 1st day, participants listened to the lecture by villagers and joined Tochikubo ecology research. On the 2nd day, they harvested, bound, and hung rice under the blue sky.
